Subject: My excuse for the homework that was not handed in

Mr. Ring,

I would like to apologize for my homework being handed in very late. My mother had forced me to take care of my cousin while she was out. My lil' cousin was crying a lot which distracted me from writing anything. It was unbearable. I had attempted to shut him up but putting on videos from YouTube on his tablet, but he was not satisfied with the child-friendly videos I had put on for him. He came up to me and asked me if he could play Wizard101 on my personal computer. I reluctantly agreeed to let him do so because he threatened to tell my mother that I did something to him. She would always believe him when he is around. Little did I know that my cousin was actually deceptively smart with computers. To distract me, my little cousin asked me to make him some spaghetti. I searched up some spaghetti recipes on DuckDuckGo and used the fastest recipe I could find. While I was cooking spaghetti, he took out his flash drive and booted Arch Linux on my computer. Sadly, he was booting the USB with malicious intent. I was foolish to assume that my cousin was dumb. He used fdisk and completely formatted the hard drive with all my assignments. Then, he called me over and said "cumputear no work" with his sad child-like voice. I came over and looked at my computer to find a terminal with fdisk that was just closed. He had also fully formatted it multiple times. Enraged, I punched my little cousin. As soon as I did that, I knew I was done for. He looked at me menacingly. My mother found out and grounded me for 3 days with no access to my computer. I also had to redo all my assignments that were on there after the 3 days were over, which included the assignment that was very late. I'm sorry for inconveniencing you with this e-mail and I know that I should have negotiated with you before.

Sincerely,
Paulo
